Day 1: Pick Up from EntebbeInternational Airport
Upon arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will be welcomed by Primate Safari Experiences Guide who will brief you about the entire trip in Uganda for 14 Days /13-night stay in luxury lodges enjoying primate watching, wildlife tours to Uganda National Parks. Transfer to the hotel in Entebbe city for an overnight stay at Lake Victoria hotel, Lake Height Hotels. Meals on Full Board.
Day 2:Transfer to Kibale national park
After Morning breakfast, you will take Kampala city tour up to 11 am and start on the drive to Kibale forest national park the best destination in Uganda that hosts Chimpanzees and its known mainly for three safari activities that are chimpanzee tracking, Chimpanzee Habituation, and Birding in the tropical rain forests of Uganda.
You will proceed to have lunch in Fort Portal, you will drive for not more than an hour to Kibale Forest national park whilst glancing at the scenic peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains if the weather allows. Overnight say at Primate lodge / Isunga Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Habituation Experiences
After Morning breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for briefing about the chimpanzee tracking rule and regulations in the forest with an experienced ranger of the park and after enter into the jungle to search for the primates ( Chimpanzees which are 98.4% ). During this habituation experience, you will find the chimpanzees in the nests and start to move with them for the entire day as you learn about their way of life, style of living & Socialisation in the wilderness of Kibale Forest National Park. (Kibale Forest is regarded as the Primate capital of the world for its 13 primate species; the highest primate population in Africa.)
Chimpanzee Habituation is a full day activity and it can last as long as the client wishes to enjoy watching the chimpanzees help him/her appreciate the way of life of these primates. Return to the lodge for Dinner and overnight as above.
Note: you will be at the park at 6;20 am to start the activity since you have to find the primates when they are still sleeping, it the reason primate Safaris recommended hotels that are near the park.
Day4: Chimpanzee Tracking
Have Morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with packed lunch for briefing about Chimpanzee tracking. You will then proceed to track these primates that are believed to share 98.4% of the DNA with human beings.
While in this forest, you are likely to encounter other primates like the black and white colobus monkey, the red-tailed monkey, the olive baboon, the blue monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey, Vervet monkey, bush baby, L’hoest’s monkey among others. A number of bird species will sing for you good melodies as you track primates. Of the park’s 325 species, 6 are endemic to the Albertine rift including the black-capped apalis, blue-headed sunbird, dusky crimson wing, and the red-faced woodland warbler among others.
After your lunch, you will take a nature walk around Bigodi wetland sanctuary. The walk will reward you with primate and bird viewing as well as a chance to visit different community projects at Bigodi and interact with the local people. Return to the lodge for dinner & Overnight.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP
Enjoy breakfast at leisure and transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP whilst enjoying en-route views of the magnificent Rwenzori mountain, a chance to visit the Ndali crater area for scenic viewing and later glance at the local businesses in Kasese town. Proceed to enter the park with a game drive, viewing different wildlife species. Arrive at the lodge early enough for lunch.
After lunch take a game drive around the park as you look out for the common residents like elephants, buffalos, bushbucks among others. Continue to reach the Katwe crater area as you glimpse at the locals mining salt and learn of the other community projects. Return in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge /Enganzi lodge
Day 6: Game drive and boat cruise
After an early breakfast, embark on a rewarding game drive along the Kasenyi trail with hopes of viewing a variety of wildlife like the elephant, the buffalo, the giraffe, topi, waterbuck, bushbuck, kob, warthogs among the park’s 100 mammal species. Do not forget to look out for the carnivores like lions, jackals spotted hyenas, and leopard if lucky as they retire from a night’s hunt.
Return for lunch at your lodge before carrying out an afternoon boat trip along Kazinga channel which will captivate you with fascinating views of yawning crocodiles, hippos, buffalos, elephants and other wildlife that storm the channel for water as well as an array of bird species including the African fish eagle, African skimmer, the pelicans, and the prehistoric-looking shoebill among others. Return for an overnight As above
Day 7: Game drive in Ishasha
After your breakfast, take a game drive to Ishasha sector in the southern part of the park expecting to see the tree-climbing lions that are a popular species of this park.
Your drive might reward you with sights of other animals like kobs and gazelles grazing in the Ishasha plains. You will have lunch there and proceed with another game drive across the plains. Return in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at Ishasha wilderness camp
Day 8: Transfer to Bunyonyi for a Boat Trip
After your breakfast, transfer to L. Bunyonyi as you enjoy the magnificent views of Kabale hills adorned with terraces. Arrive in time for lunch and thence take an a boat trip to explore the different islands on this 2nd deepest lake in Africa. You are likely to be fascinated by the overwhelming variety of birds from which the lake derives its name.
You may have a picnic lunch on the island and return in the evening for dinner and overnight at Arcadia lodge/ Birdnest hotel.
Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi NP
Have breakfast at your relaxed peace of mind, you will enjoy a relaxed drive to connect from Lake Bunyonyi to Bwindi Impenetrable national park via Kabale town as you encounter the local people en route carrying out their daily activities. You may stop briefly to visit the local markets and then proceed to the southern part of Bwindi. Check-in at your booked lodge in the afternoon and have the rest of the day at leisure.
You may decide to take an optional walk to the neighboring Bakiga community to explore how they make their local beer, traditional dishes among others. Overnight stay at Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge (luxury).
Day 10: Bwindi Gorilla tracking
After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for a pre-tracking briefing by the senior park ranger guide. Proceed for this thrilling adventure that will lead you through the dense forest with steep wet slopes on your quest for the endangered apes.
The time taken to see the Mountain gorillas is not specific as it may range between 2-8 hours depending on where they will have spent the previous night.
Once you catch a glimpse of them, you are guaranteed an hour with them as you observe and learn their behaviors while taking photos to back up your memory. Return from tracking and transfer to Mgahinga NP for an overnight at Gahinga lodge.
Day 11: Golden monkey tracking
After an early breakfast, you will go for tracking the rare golden monkey on the slopes of Mgahinga National Park for the true experience of the primates in Uganda’s Virunga massif which can come with an optional Habituation experience of Golden monkey for watching. Return to the lodge for Dinner and overnight as above.
Day 12: Transfer to Lake Mburo National park
After your breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park, – one of the newest wildlife National Parks in Uganda. once there, you will go for a game drive in the afternoon on which you will encounter various animals such as impalas, oribis, zebras, elands, buffaloes, and topis among several others. Dine and spend the night at Arcadia lodge.
Day 13: Game Drive & Horse riding
You will go for a game drive in the early morning to see the early risers retiure from their hunt. Later, in the day, you will head back to the lodge to enjoy a late breakfast and rest. After lunch, go for the thrilling boat trip on which you will see various water birds like the strange White-winged Warbler, the Papyrus gonoleks, Bare-faced Go-away bird, Brown-faced lapwing.
Note: During the evening, you can go for the optional Horse ridding in Lake Mburo National Park, clients that select this extra activity we shall change the accommodation to mihingo lodge
Day 14: Departure
Have an early breakfast and then begin the drive back to Kampala with a stopover at the equator for experimental.
