Day 1: Nairobi to Ol Pejeta conservancy
You will depart from Nairobi after breakfast for the Ol Pejeta conservancy. Located at the foot of snow-capped Mount Kenya, this is 360 square kilometer park is sometimes known as sweet waters.
Not only is the park home to the big five, but it also contains a sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees- making it one of the few places in east Africa where it is possible to see the big five and these fascinating primates in the same place.
The sweet waters chimpanzee sanctuary is the conservancy’s biggest drawn card, started in 1993 with an initial group of three chimpanzees, the sanctuary has grown considerably in the yards since. You will enjoy lunch at the chimpanzee sanctuary as well as meeting Baroka, a tame rhinoceros who calls the conservancy home. You will finish off your day with an evening game drive in the park.
Day 2: Ol Pejeta conservancy to Lake Nakuru national park
You will set off after breakfast for your trek to Lake Nakuru national park in the great African rift valley.
You will enjoy a hot lunch at your lodge before taking an afternoon game drive along the shores of the lake to spot baboons, buffaloes, lions, leopards and more of the wildlife.
Day 3: Lake Nakuru national park to Maasai Mara
You will depart from Lake Nakuru after breakfast for the drive south to Kenya’s most famous park the Maasai Mara. Part of the vast Serengeti plains, the Maasai Mara plays host to a chapter of the famous wildebeest migration each year as more than 1.7 million wildebeest ,500,000 zebras and antelopes cross the Mara river. You will still have the chance to see the entire big five as well as Kenya’s largest variety of wildlife.
After lunch at your lodge, you will head out for an afternoon and sun set game drive.
Day 4: Maasai Mara
After a quick cup of coffee, you will head out into the park to watch the sun as it sets fire to the savannah and big cats take advantage of the morning cool to search for a meal.
Alternatively, you can take to the skies with a hot air balloon safari that will soar above all of the action before setting down on the plains for a champagne breakfast among the wildlife.
You will then return to your lodge for a late breakfast before packing a picnic lunch and heading back out into the park for a day long exploration of the Maasai Mara. You may also opt to relax at your lodge in the morning, lunch on site then head out again in the afternoon once the weather has cooled.
Day 5: Maasai Mara to Mombasa
We will leave the Maasai Mara after breakfast and head back to Nairobi for your flight to Mombasa.
It will be a day of travel but you will be rewarded when you arrive at your beach side hotel in time for dinner and a sneaky sundowner ought to make up for it.
Day 6 and 7 in Mombasa
Wake up early for breakfast or sleep in and enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the mid-morning. Your days are yours to fill, swim in the pool, head out into the ocean for some water sports, play a spot of tennis, or just settle in within a good book on the beach.
Day 8: Mombasa to Malindi/Watamu
No beach holiday in Kenya would be complete without a visit to the world renowned Watamu beach in the nearby coastal town of Malindi. With its white sand, turquoise waters and vibrant coral reefs, Watamu regularly polls among the world’s top beaches.
Day 9: Malindi/Watamu
The day is entirely yours, you can head out on a dolphin watching cruise, take a dip in the pool, go snorkeling or defying with some water sports where you will have an unforgettable final day on the Kenyan coast.
Day 10: Malindi/Watamu to Nairobi
Your seven days trip has come to an end, you will leave the Kenyan coast before and finally transferred to the airport for your flight back to you country. Kenya will surely miss you, please come back soon.
